ABOUT THE CELL
Malda Women’s College (MWC) has a Career Counselling Cell for students. As per the guidelines and recommendation of UGC XI th plan, the Career Counselling Cell was established in our college in the year 2012. The main goal of this cell is to make students aware of many job opportunities and also to train them through workshop, seminar and orientation programme in collaboration with some agencies or companies. Some of the students are offered job after such training by agencies. Counselling of students imparts to the students practical knowledge, confidence and a sense of social communication as well as responsibility and reshapes their views and visions. It also improves their overall wellbeing like academic, personal and social, emotional as well as intellectual development. The cell always supports the students to cope with serious mental health issues and build trust, commitment and understanding within them.
The cell operates 6 days in a week. Students can contact with the members of the Cell both in online and offline modes. Interested students may also consult relevant magazines, journals and literatures available in our college library and website. The resource persons of different institutions also guide and enlighten the students regarding the future scopes and subject matters in a regular basis. Study materials along with PPT and video lectures are also supplied to the students. Information is conveyed to the students through notice in the college campus as well as in college website. The cell acts for the students from their career planning to relationship problems and stress.
VISION: The cell actively functions to develop soft skill and communication ability in competitive examinations, on-job training and vocational training among the students. Different counseling programmes make the students mentally strong and meet their need in different academic, personal, social and emotional development.
MISSION: The mission of the cell is-
a) To help, support, guide and assist students to develop life skills to cope up with different challenges
b) Enhance their personality by making them not just excellent professionals but also good human beings with proper understandings, reasoning and regards for human values.
OBJECTIVES: The objectives of the cell are a) to attain personal and professional excellence of the students in the context of new changed perspective towards the challenges of life, b) to help students become self-sufficient and motivated in future life, c) to ensure their success, happiness and well-being.

ACTION PLAN OF THE SUBCOMMITTEE: The subcommittee undertakes the following actions for the benefit of the students:
A] Adequate online/offline counseling provided by the cell to help and guide the students
B] Manage their immediate concerns and anxiety during examination
C] Career guidance, training and skill sets to students to find the right job
D] Study materials will be ready for students time to time
E] Resource persons also be invited according to the consent of the college author
ANNUAL REPORT-2025-2026
The Career Counselling Cell organised various orientation programme and seminar for the students in the academic year 2025-2026.The motive was to create a lot of career and job opportunities, higher study option among the students. Six meetings were held during this session.
1. Campus interview programme in collaboration with Pinnacle Learning Solution Group:
The programme was conducted on16.09.2025 in college auditorium. Total 110 students attended the programme. Prof.Mandira Chakraborty ,the honorable principal give inaugural speech of the programme.The chief of Pinnacle Learning Solution group discussed their institutional rules regulation and opportunities provided by them.
2. Career counseling session in collaboration with RICE EDUCATION,Malda branch: Date09.01.2026.
Total 135 students present in the programme. In this programme students are very much motivated to see the achievements of students of RICE centre.
3. Counseling by Malda district Co-operative union:
On 16.12.2025 this programme was organized in the college to aware the students regarding job opportunities in co-operative banks.
4. Seminar of TETRI DEVI Foundation related to future prospect and job opportunities:
On 25.11.2025 The TETRI DEVI Foundation have organized the programme in collaboration with career counseling subcommittee to aware the students regarding scopes of higher studies and job related courses and job opportunities. Total 124 students participated in this programme.
